Faculty of Agronomic Sciences

Since the 2014-2015 academic year, the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences (FSA) has trained rural development professionals able to meet the challenges of food security and water and natural resource management in the Sahel.

It offers four professional Bachelor's degrees, with a common core in the first and second years followed by specialisation in the third year.

Graduate skills

  • Analyse the biological, ecological and socio-economic processes of farming, pastoral, forest and aquaculture ecosystems;
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of agro-sylvo-pastoral policies;
  • Integrate society-environment-agriculture-livestock relations into development projects;
  • Carry out sustainable natural resource development and management.

Professional Bachelor's in Water and Soil Management (AGES)

3 years

Trains senior technicians to manage water and soil sustainably: combating land degradation, water and soil conservation, soil fertility. Two-year common core followed by specialisation, with field trips.

Career prospects: Technical services of ministries (agriculture, livestock, environment, land planning), research institutes, agri-environmental consultancies, development projects, NGOs.

Professional Bachelor's in Forest and Fisheries Management (AGFP)

3 years

Trains senior technicians in the sustainable development and management of forests and fisheries resources. Two-year common core followed by specialisation.

Professional Bachelor's in Irrigated Crops and Water Management (CIME)

3 years

Trains senior technicians in irrigated agriculture: irrigation techniques, water management, crop husbandry, plant protection and adding value to production. Two-year common core followed by specialisation.
